Andorra has always been very well-known for its electronics stores. It’s true that this destination is one of the best places in Europe for finding anything you need at a reasonable price in all areas of electronics, telephones and computing. The best street for this is: Avenida Meritxell, in the capital of Andorra la Vella. This is one of the biggest streets with the largest range of services you’ve ever seen, where you’ll constantly see window shops decorated in offers.
If you’re staying at one of our hotels in Andorra la Vella (Hotel Plaza and Hotel Holiday Inn Andorra), you’ll only need to go a few steps before hitting the small stretches of road and different routes which you walk along until they eventually end. Be careful though as, if you’re going shopping, strolling along the whole street will take up a lot of time.
The truth is however that, in some cases, prices hardly differ from those found in other countries. Savings are normally between 2 or 3 euros but, on many products, if you know where to look, you can find real bargains. With that being said, the stores are enormous and full of items that are hard to find elsewhere.
The prices and offers available in Andorra have made it one of the best destinations for the latest high-tech gadgets on the continent. Every year, visitors stop by to enjoy a few days of shopping and acquiring goods and gadgets whose reasonable prices catch their eye.
One of the best zones for any type of product, but above all electronics, is the Pyrenees. Shoppers love this area for the service they receive, the variety of products, the bargain prices in all seasons and the guarantees that come with the products.
For those who want to go to Andorra in order to buy the camera of their dreams or for extra equipment (lens, tripod, shutter release), the best store to visit is FotoCineColor, where you can find all this and more in this sector. The store is specialised in equipment for professionals of photography and it’s only been a few months since the company moved to this street: Avenida Meritxell.
In regards to electronics and computing, there are dozens of shops to choose from, the important ones are not in Andorra la Vella however, but in the town: Sant Julià de Lòria. Therefore, if you have your own car or if you’re renting one, keep aside a few days of your stay in Andorra to visit this town. Trust us; it’s worth it.
When it’s time to go back home, keep in mind that even though you’ll have with you products bought in Andorra, you don’t have to declare them as they’re exempt from tax (within a maximum value of €900), but normally most products bought are food or drink (coffee, tea, alcohol) so it’s best to consult the list of duty-free allowances imported from Andorra.
Treat yourself deservingly. We’re waiting for you at Hotels Plaza Andorra.
